Philip had a fencing tournament on Oahu, so we made a vacation out of it, spending the weekend in Waikiki then moving on the the Big Island for a week of snorkeling clear waters, hiking breathtaking valleys, checking out beaches with green sand and with black sand, and most amazing of all, witnessing the incredible lava flow down the mountain and into the sea. (How's that for a run-on sentence!) I can babble on & on about this trip, but the pictures tell the story so much better...
