I was surprised at how good I felt considering the amount and variety of liquor I consummed. But I was tired, and it was a slower day at the conference. Lunch was fun, a nice 2-hour break with very talkative customers from all over Europe - Germany, Holland, France and Finland. The afternoon passed more quickly. I was chatting with Betty, a young admin from the French office - I mentioned I had recently been to the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and it turns out Betty's boyfriend was a brakeman for the France 2 bobsled team. Soon the conference was over and I went to my room for a nice long nap.

Heidi invited me to join her for dinner with Ronald, the European AC manager, and his admin Irene. We had a wonderful dinner at a seafood restaurant across from our hotel. After dinner, Ronald suggested an evening stroll on the Champs-Elysees, which was just a block away. We strolled down the famous boulevard to the Arc de Triomphe, then all the way down to the Place de la Concorde almost 3 miles away! As we walked down, the street was quiet. But on the way back it close to midnight and the street was packed with people in line for clubs or movies or just out for a walk like us. By the time we got back to the hotel it was 1am. next>>
