Game Over

Light the fire within

Our second hockey game had a different feel from the first. The Peaks Ice Area was tiny, seating only 6,500 in temporarily metal bleachers. Dan pointed out that some NHL players probably skated at places like this when they were kids. But what it lacked in size, it made up for in crowd enthusiasm. Fans from Russia and Finland were out in full force. Throughout the game, chants of "ROO-SEE-UH" and "SU-O-MI" (Russia and Finland) rang in the tiny venue. It was a great game, and in the end Finland triumphed.
